Eden Decking: Installation & Care Guide
DEVOX product guide · Published 8 October 2026
Eden is DEVOX's WPC decking range. A dependable deck starts with the support structure, drainage and fixing details, then the boards and finish. Use this guide alongside the current Eden installation specification for your project.

Confirm the selected board and layout
The current product listing shows 140 × 22 × 5400 mm boards in Black, IPE, Magic Grey, Walnut, Dark Grey and Teak. Confirm the exact colour, quantity, selling unit and availability before ordering. Measure the deck, mark cut-outs and plan board ends and any joins so the supports can be positioned correctly.
Inspect every board for damage or defects before cutting or fitting. Keep an agreed cutting plan and allow for usable off-cuts and spare material. A gross deck area alone does not determine the final order quantity.
Get the subframe details before work starts
The brochure calls for a sturdy, level supporting frame. Its illustrated instructions do not supply a complete set of joist spacings, end clearances or expansion dimensions. Obtain those details from DEVOX for the selected board and the project's conditions before construction.
- Joist spacing and support requirements at board ends and joins.
- Side, end and wall clearances, including temperature-related expansion allowances.
- Ventilation and drainage beneath the boards.
- The correct clip positions, fasteners and compatibility with the subframe.
- Edge, stair and perimeter details where they are part of the project.
Have a qualified installer check the structure and the applicable project requirements. Decorative decking boards do not replace structural framing or establish the design capacity of the deck.
Understand the three clip roles
Starter clips position the first board at the frame edge. Middle clips connect the continuing rows and establish the side gap in the documented system. Anti-slip clips are a board-restraint component in that installation sequence. Their name does not establish the slip rating of the walking surface.
Follow the brochure's installation sequence
- Mark the starter clip locations using the agreed fixing detail, then screw the clips securely to the frame.
- Seat the starter board in the clips and check alignment and level.
- Fit at least one anti-slip clip per length of the starter board, as specified in the brochure.
- Position and screw the middle clips, then seat the next board in them. Confirm that the correct clip system is being used.
- Secure the board and fit at least one anti-slip clip per board length. Check alignment and level as each row is added.
The brochure says the middle clips provide the between-board gap. Still confirm end gaps, wall clearances and other expansion details separately. Do not substitute a generic spacing figure or a different clip system without approval.
Care and inspection checklist
Keep loose leaves and debris from building up, especially where they could obstruct drainage. Remove loose dirt gently with a soft broom, and inspect the deck periodically for movement, damaged boards, loose fixings and blocked drainage. Arrange repairs when a defect appears rather than covering it with a coating.
Before treating a spill or stain, ask DEVOX for the current Eden cleaning instructions and the approved cleaner for that stain and finish. Keep a photo and note what caused it. The brochure does not specify a pressure-washing setting, chemical recipe, sanding method or sealing schedule, so obtain product guidance before using those treatments.
Keep the selected board and clip details, installation specification and care instructions with your project records. If boards need replacement, those records help identify the correct matching components.
Wet areas and slip performance
For pool surrounds, stairs or other locations with a specified slip requirement, request the relevant report for the chosen finish and application. The brochure includes results for particular finishes and test methods; they should not be turned into one universal slip claim for every Eden board or every site.
